Gallery A3 is excited to announce an Open Call for Artists for its 10th Annual Juried Show, to be held August 7, 2025 - August 30, 2025 with an opening reception on Thursday, August 7th, 2025 from 5-8 pm.
The juror for this year’s exhibition is Billy Meyers. Meyers is an independent lighting and exhibition designer with forty years of museum and gallery experience. He has curated and organized exhibitions both regionally and internationally. He became involved with the Zone Art Center, a multidisciplinary arts organization in 1985. Currently Meyers serves as the Artistic Director and Curator for Art for the Soul Gallery in Springfield, MA, where he continues to shape dynamic and impactful artistic experiences.
Gallery A3 is a cooperative, contemporary fine arts gallery in downtown Amherst. Current members include painters, sculptors, photographers, print makers, installation artists, and mixed media artists. During its 23-year history, A3 has been home to over 60 artists, mounting monthly exhibits and offering cultural events and community collaborations. The Gallery’s opening receptions take place on the first Thursday of every month; Art Forums, free and open to the public, are scheduled on the third Thursday of the month. The Art for Community II outreach program is supported in part by grants from the Amherst, and Pelham Cultural Councils, all local agencies, which are supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
Open to all artists 17 and older in Massachusetts, and the surrounding region, (Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, Maine and New York). Artists of all backgrounds and working in all media (excluding video and media works) are encouraged to apply.
Work must not exceed 26 inches in width, and 72 inches in height, including framing. Sculpture must not exceed 18 lbs and 26 inches in any dimension. All artwork must be ready to install. Sculptures requiring pedestals must be delivered with their pedestals, which must be stable and clean. Artwork requiring assembly or special handling must include precise directions and photo(s) of the assembled work.

Application fee: $38 for 3 images, $7 for one additional image, up to 4 images total.
All wall-hung artwork submitted must not exceed 26” wide, and 72" height, including framing and be ready to hang or install. Sculptures submitted, must not exceed 26" in any direction, and must be delivered with their pedestals, which must be stable and clean. Artists or their surrogate must be responsible for delivering artwork to Gallery A3, 28 Amity Street, Amherst, MA. Accepted work may be dropped-off to Gallery A3, 28 Amity Street, Amherst, MA 01002 on Sunday, August 3, 2025, from 2-7 pm and Monday, August 4, 2025, from 10 am-noon. (gallery tel: 413 256-4250).
Giclees of canvas art, copies of artworks, or reproductions will not be accepted.
All artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibit with no exceptions.
Accepted Artists must place their name, medium, year made, and sales price on the back of their piece. Please note: If you do not wish to have your accepted artwork for sale please indicate NFS (not for sale) as the price. Sales will be processed by Gallery A3, with checks payable to Gallery A3 plus sales tax. Please note: the gallery retains 30% from the sale so please price your work accordingly, taking into account the price of framing. All prices submitted at the time of submission are final.
All unsold work must be picked up in person on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 5:30-7 pm (last day of show) or Sunday, August 31, 2025 from 10 am-3 pm. The gallery has very limited storage so please make arrangements for your work to be picked up on time.
Submitting your entry indicates that you agree with the conditions of entry and exhibit as outlined in this prospectus, that you agree to make your work available and delivered to the gallery by the date specified should it be selected for exhibit, and collected during the dates and times stated.
DO NOT submit an entry form if you cannot follow through. Do not double-book your work, commit it to other conflicting exhibitions, or sell it without securing its availability for our exhibit, after submitting to this project.
